Activities in 2021

The first action, participation in the vWTTC, in January was actually planned for December 2020 and had to be postponed due to technical problems on the part of the operator of the online platform.

In March I took part in the “Ride for a Reason” campaign, which raised funds to buy bicycles for school children in Africa.

Actions are still pending in 2021. I don’t know yet whether a Malabo run can take place. But hope rises with everyone who is vaccinated.

This year, 6956 euros are still missing to finance the Malabon project. So there is still a lot to be done.

So what is planned for 2021?

May 2021: Everesting on Everest
So far I have been able to collect 8,634 euros. Mount Everest is 8,848 meters high. So not much is missing anymore. If this donation amount is reached by May 13th, I will take part in the “Everesting on Everest” Challenge on May 14th or 15th. In a virtual sense, the RGT online platform is all about climbing those vertical meters in one go during a bike ride. More information at (external links) https://www.rgtcycling.com/everesting-on-everest/ and https://everesting.cc/virtual-everesting-rules/. Then there is also a live blog and possibly also a live stream again. To reach the corresponding altitude, you have to do 9 laps of 25.4 km with an average of 8% gradient, i.e. a total of approx. 228 km.

September 2021: Race Across Germany
If the pandemic situation permits, the RAG will take place on September 10th. From Aachen to Görlitz. During the official race with a tracker and with Instagram stories on the go. I will take part in the “50+ unsupported” category. There will also be a new jersey. If you are interested in jersey advertising, please contact the Malabon project group or me directly. And of course all donations are welcome!

And another request for your opinion:

Idea “one kilometer per euro”
For every euro donated after June 1st, 2021, I will cycle or run the corresponding kilometers until the end of the year. The donor receives appropriate evidence (when, where, time, length). What do you think about that? Do you have any other suggestions or ideas? Then please use the comment function.

I published also a new short video (external link to YouTube)!
