About miles4malabon

I am Bert,

and with miles4malabon I support the Projektgruppe-Malabon e.V., which has financed projects in the Philippines under the motto “helping for self-help” for more than 30 years.

The program of the Malabon project group includes various projects to support children and young people in the slums of Malabon, Tondo and the island of Bohol.

Together with the state program for technical education and skills development, which offers classrooms and instructors, one project covers the training costs for 250 people on Bohol who are trained each year for skilled employment. There are 250 families whose human development is promoted and a life in dignity made possible.

Another project focuses on school education. Young people from the slum areas are given the opportunity to attend college. There are currently 20 students in Malabon and on the island of Bohol taking part in the 3 to 4-year program. In the past 30 years, 370 students have graduated and most of them successfully released into the professional world.

One of the first initiatives of the program was to support the so-called “free clinic” in Malabon. 80-100 people who need medical support and help are treated free of charge in the clinic every other Saturday.

Since 2003, another project has been looking after 60 street children of preschool age in Manila. The aim of the project is to prepare children who would otherwise have no chance of going to primary school. It even includes helping the kids on weekends.

Thanks to my fundraising activities and your donations, the number of street children supported increased from 60 to 100 in 2020. A warm and healthy, freshly prepared meal per child costs only 50 cents. This is made possible by the large number of voluntary and honorary helpers on site, and also by the Projektgruppe-Malabon e.V..

Please help me keep the support going for these 40 additional children in Malabon!
