Only three weeks until the start of the BHard Ultra — time is flying. Training is progressing steadily, even though the weather change has given my hay fever a fresh boost. No drama: instead of extra intervals it’s now more about longer, steady rides. Adapting is part of the game.
Training update: last week Bike: ~500 km (some gravel, mainly road), Running: ~20 km

Those are solid weekly numbers and give me confidence for the distance. Form is coming;the legs feel good — if a bit compromised by the sneezes.
Open decision: board setup The biggest question remains: lightweight and fast, or carry a bit more gear for comfort and security? Light favors speed; extra luggage brings independence and peace of mind. One more week to decide — at the latest before the long Corpus Christi weekend, when I plan a final long ride to test the setup.
Travel plan in short
- Flights: round-trip to Zagreb are booked.
- Onward: cycling from Zagreb to the start in Banja Luka (approx. 180 km), comfortably split into two easystages.
- Accommodation: not booked yet — I prefer to stay flexible and decide on the spot.
Next steps (concrete)
- Keep racking up miles — focus on long aerobic endurance.
- Finalize and test setup options in the coming days (weight vs. luggage).
- Do a long test ride over the Corpus Christi long weekend with the full race setup.
- Keep accommodation flexible — book short notice on site.
Conclusion Three weeks is short but enough to go into the race with confidence if I run clear tests and targeted sessions. Stay calm, accumulate miles, and decisively test the setup — then I can roll up to the start line with a good feeling.
